            I have a 2003 Audi tt quatrro with 19" ...

I have a 2003 Audi tt quatrro with 19" rims, I took it to have a wheel balance and was told that the rims and spacers were illegal. I bought the car only a few months ago with these wheels on it. Is the tyre dealer telling me the correct information that I must put smaller rims on it, thanks

Hi,Deb,The wheels balance test is to confirm whether the wheels and tires are steady when driving. If it is unbalance, the probable reasons is the wheels are not balance when they are made.I suggest that you can take wheel balance again without tires,If still balance, you can ask the tyre dealer add leads on the wheels to make it ok.

Hi John, thanks for your reply, my problem is that the tyre dealer said they wouldn't balance the rims / tyres as they are saying that they are illegal size. The rims are 19" with 245/35 tyres, 45 offset and a 5mm spacer. I know it needs balancing as I have a shake at 85 and 115 km/hr, that's why I went to tyre dealer. I got the feeling that they didn't understand that the tt quatrro came with 17s std so the 19s are legal. I'm just wondering if I was being given advice to change rims and tyres due to their lack of knowledge or because they hoped I would just say yes to a big sale. I was hoping to get some clear advice. I know that spacers are illegal in nsw. Thanks

I have a 2011 Audi TT and the front right tire hit the inner rim of the fender if I hit a pot hole or bad bump. Is this do to the camber of the strut? The left front wheel is fine and doesn't do this.

Hi,Scott,I think you'd better confirm the wheel balance. And does the front right tire size is same with the left one?If no,it may be caused by the tire size.
