I have a bmw x3 e83 20 diesel with staggered wheels front 235 50 18 and rear 255 45 18. Can I change the rear rims and both tires and make them as the front ones ??? so all tires will be 235 50 18?? Will I have any issues with the car drive train? Thanks
Hi,Andrew.I does not suggest that you change the rear rims and tires as the same as the front one,Because according to the OEM specs,The width of rear wheels have 0.5'' wieder than front.

Thanks for your timely reply but,one of the recommend size is 235 50 R18;Therefore,I would prefer a slightly wider tire than 215 55 R18; hence,I would like to know if 225 55 R18 will be fine.
Hello sir, thanks for your previous reply but,one of the BMW manufacturer,s specified tire size is 235 50 R18;secondly,I would prefer to hv slightly wider tires than 215 55 R18,therefore will there be drivability problems installing 225 55 R18 ?? since the difference between the 215 55 R18 and 225 55 R18 is just the witdth or Widnes...

Hi, Devin,If you place it directly,it can't fit for.You need to buy some spacers(size like 8mm) for the wheels.

I want to know if a 2006 X3 - Rim 8Jx17 ET46 - 5x120 - M14 x 1.5- 72.6mmFit a 2007 530xi - which has stock rims- 7.5Jx17 ET43 - 5x120 - M12 x 1.5 - 72.6mm?? The offsets are close, but I'm concerned the X3 rims will rub on the finder skirts of the 530xi. Will the M12x1.5 Lug on the 530xi fit to the lug opening on the X3 rim??
Hi,D Heath,The offset is not a problem,You can try it.And for the lug size.I think it should be M14*1.5,But you'd better confirm again with wheel dealers.

Hello :-) I have a 2005 BMW X3 3.0l. Car came with 235/55R17, the same size front and back, pressure in front at 32, in back at 38. I would like to change it to a staggered configuration and was thinking of the following:Front 235/55R17 Back 245/55R17Or Front 245/50R17 Back 245/60R17Or Front 245/50R17 Back 245/55R17Not looking to change wheels, just tires. Which would be the best combination? What tire pressure would be best for the above combinations, front and back respectively?Thank you so much, would truly appreciate some input.
Hi,Gwyneth,The first one is the best. For the tire pressure,You can use the same.It does not matter.
Thank you so much John! Done, got tires in that format. For right now used tires that I found in awesome condition to try out if I like how the car drives with that format before I buy new ones. 235/55R17 Continental Conticontactpro E All Season 99H for 30 bucks a piece. 245/55R17 102H Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Run Flat for 50 bucks a piece. Are those good tires when they are new? Trying to find great tires that are not noisy and makes the carride as soft and smooth as possible but still be very safe, responsive and gripping the road very well come rain or shine. Is that possible? I live in Phoenix, AZ, roads here are horrible when it rains because constructed for only no rain. Thank you again John, I so appreciate all the help I can get with this.
Hi,Gwyneth,First question reply:Yes,your choice is ok.And after fited, you can ask the dealer to test the balance.Second question reply:It depend many things,Not just the tires. But for tires,it must be comaptible.
Hello! I have a 2007 x3 3.0si M
It has 19" rims with different size tires front and rear. I have an extra set of 18" x5 rims i would like to use for winter tires. What size tires do you recommend I put on the 18" rims and is it even possible?
Thank You for your help!
Hi,John, yes, you can use 18'' rims and for the tire size you can try 235/50R18
Thank you for the speedy response! I do not have to do the different size front and rear like the below states? I can do the same size al the way around?
235/50R18 255/45R18 8Jx18 ET44 9Jx18 ET51
Would a BMW 2010 X3 17"rims fit a BMW 2013 X3? Using this for winter tires set.Thanks.
No, they will not fit. I have tried. The brake calipers on the newer 2011-2016 X3 are too large for the OEM 17" wheels from the earlier 2003-2010 X3.
Would a OEM 17" wheel from a BMW X3 2016 fit a-2013 BMW X3?
hi wondering if 17 inch wheels from bmwx3 f25 would fit on a bmw x3 e83 all seem to be same except the lug bolts both m14 but f25 is 1.25 and e83 is m14 x1.5
Hi,George, yes.they have different lugs size but you can fit it. when you use them, you'd better choose the right size lugs.
hi john thanks for the reply what size of lugs would i need , would the existing lug bolt be ok
hi john ment to say would the lug bolt from e83 be ok
Hi,George,You can use e83 lugs for f25 rims.After fited,Take a balance test.
I have recently bought a 2015 X3 35d MSport. It has 245/45/19 98Y tyres on the front and 275/40/19 101Y on the rear. Is this in spec - looks wrong to me? Thanks.
Hi,John,BMW have different wheel width for front wheels and back wheels. So the tire size is little different,Your car tires is compatible,Don't worry
Thanks - mind is at rest. However, I am on the verge of ordering a new set of 18inch alloys for winter tyres. Should I be ordering different wheel sizes for front and rear? hanks, John
hi john thank you very much put my mind at ease, hopefully get them fitted at the weekend cheers once again george
Hi,George,After fited,if you still have other questions,You can show it there.
