Can a et15 offset rims size 22 fit on a 2006 ford five hundred?
HI,Shaun,No,It can fit for.The offset is too low,and size is too big
What is the normal thickness of front and rear brakes on a 2013 ford taurus limited
what would happen on my 2006 ford 500 if have 215/60 R 17 on the front and 215/50 R 17 0n the back
Hi,Glenn,According to my data.215/50/17 is not fitable, you can try 245/50/17
The stock 2006 wheels/tires on our ford 500 seems to be 17 x 7 with 52mm offset and 215 60 R17 tires. I have found a set of tires and wheels off a 3.6L V6 Mustang that seem to be 17 x 7 rims with same size bolt pattern EXCEPT the offset is only 40 mm vs. 52 mm for the OEM 2006 wheels. Will that put the wheels too close to the brake calipers? Other issues?
Rims for Ford Five Hundred
I did read the info copied below that would seem to indicate 40mm offsets would work but I know it would be close to the brake calipers. What with the max clearance required in inches or mm.?
Bolt pattern 5x114.3Diameter: 17.0'' - 20.0''; Width (inches): 7 - 8.5; Offset (mm): 35 - 50.
Hi, Gale! I can not answer unequivocally, fitting required. Lower offset means that a wheel coming out of the wheel arch and how much rim is close to the caliper depends on the shape of the spokes. Most often rims with high positive offset (>50 mm) have special form of spokes and may not be compatible with large sport calipers. I think, 17x7 ET40 can fit, but not 100% sure.
Thanks Oleg. I love my new snow tires so I am looking for a set of wheels/tires to run the other 9 months out of the year . There is a great deal of new 'pulls' with ET40 vs. 52 mm OEM offset but the tires sticking out more concerns me.
My 2005 ford 500 sel fwd has stock 17x7 rims. Lot of nice after market rims are 17x8. I found some 17x8 fwd wheels will that inch cause my tires to rub and if that is the case would spacers solve that issue?
