Can I put 17 inch aviator wheels with a offset of 32 to 35 on my lincoln town car which has a 17 inch stock wheels with a 39 to 48 offset ? The lugs and bolt pattern is the same. I'm confused what offset does
Hi,Trund,The offset means the distance from wheel fix surface to the middle of wheel width. For your car,It can't fit.
So the wheel will be inside the wheel well a inch or more or so ? Why will they not fit ? If I have the room and the calibers will clear the wheels ? Or do you think the calibers will rub ? Thanks for your help
Hi,Trund,About OFFSET,you can get the meaning from 2 points,1,your wheels need the bolts to fit. So,the offset if too big or small,You bolts can't fit.2.only correct offset can fit for wheel well.About calibers, you mean the wheel fix surface?
This is incorrect. Not pattern and offset are different things. If the bolt pattern fits the wheels will probably fit,but if the offset is higher than the car requires, it will appear sunken in the wheel well. You can fix this by buying spacers or keep the look the way it is. I don't think a few millimeters will affect the way the vehicle and specially the brakes work.
I need tires for a 98 Lincoln Town car and my buddy has a Cadillac he says will fit but idk. Whatcha think?

Hi,Daniel,You mean the offset is 5 or 50 for 1997 lincoln ?If it is 50mm,it can fit for each other,if 5,It will be a mistake.
