Hi,Kc,235/40/17 is ok for your car.About the wheels,You just need to make sure it's offset and bolt pattern is same with your current wheels and if so, you can fit it.

i couldn't find 17" tires that size, can then 235/40R18 with 8.5x18" wheels fit without any body work like rolling fenders? Just to remind you that this is a 2011 mx5 miata auto which came originally with 205/45R17 tires with 7x17 wheels

Hi,Kc,1.235/40/18 is not compatible with 205/45/17.2.For the wheels, does the 18'' wheel bolt pattern is same with current 17''?What the offset of both wheels? If both of them are compatible, you can use it.

Excuse me john but are u a specialist, an expert in miata mx5? Or do u actually own one and have operated the same changes to insure me i won't find any problems like body clearing upon rough roads here in Lebanon or steep declines (i park the car in a quite steep decline)? Will my 2011 mx5 2.0 automatic gearbox run as smoothly too? Really thankful for all the effort and trouble ur putting in order to help me optimize my car ! Thanks again
