Hey John, thanks for responding. I haven't been able to find those tires for my '98 Volvo, but I've seen them on other '98 Volvos. Do you have any idea where I could purchase? One guy told me they don't make them for cars that old! Do I need to make alterations to my Volvo to put 17" tires on? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!
          Thanks! Teddy

Can I use my 16" or 17" rims from my 2004 XC70 on an 2007 V50, which has a different offset? And will the change in tire sizes fit the rims for this change in vehicle?

Hi,Jim,XC70 stock wheel offset is 43-45mm for 16'‘ and 49mm for 17'',V50 offset is 50mm for 17'' and 52.5mm for 16''.The compatible offset error is +-5mm,So if you wheel offset is in compatible with it.You can use it.For tire size change,You can use tire calculator to check whether they are compatible.

            Thanks John,
I believe my XC70 16" rims have an offset of 49, while the V50 specs (here) show 52.5 - should only be 3.5mm further out...
Oh, and I forgot to ask confirmation that 205 tires (calling for 6.5j rims) will sit fine on the rims which had 215 tires (7j) - these rims should work for the narrower tires?

Hi,Jimmy,The 3.5mm wheel offset error is compatible. For the tire size, you can also use 205 tires in 7j width rims. They are also compatible.

Greetings, I'm about to prepare my 2005 xc70 for winter and have found a set of 15 inch wheels and tires from a 1999 s70. Can I go down an inch and still clear the brake calipers and rotors? Thanks much for any info on the subject.

              Thanks much!
I've looked and seen info for upsized not downsized wheels usually. I've tried digging on this subject but only have limited access to web, and little phone... I'll try and pick these old wheels up.
