A Protege 5 2002 or 2003 comes stock with 16"- 5 lug alloy wheels and 195/50 tires and 4 wheel disc brakes.None of them came with 14" wheels.
Goodyear put four new wheels on 16by7.0 5/100 4.5. I purchased new tires. The wheels fit 205/55r16 tires and now if my heavy friend sits in the back seat there is a rubbing sound! Did Goodyear sell me the wrong size wheel?
Yes, and mine is stock 5 lug, not 4 lug pattern. Mine is a 2002 Pro5 Wagon.
What I meant "Yes" to was Jerry's previous comment about them not coming stock on 14's.
All Protégé 5's are a 5 bolt. THAT'S WHAT THE "5" stands for. The Protégé had 4
The 5 in Protege5 stands for 5 doors. As in 4 and a hatchback. It has squat to do with the lug nut count...Jesus.205/55's are taller than 50 series, due to a much taller sidewall. That's why it's rubbing.Check Tirerack.com's tire sizer.
Hahah what an idiot. Why on Earth would a car manufacturer use the number of light nuts on one wheel to specify model name?
Also...this website is flat out wrong. The info to the right is for a Base Protege with steelies.
Thank you. It has been corrected.
That was quick.Nice work.Feel free to remove my comment.
Also: Stock requirements for this car are for a tire with a "V" speed rating.
...not sure on what’s the best / biggest / widest / maximum tires or rims will fit your car?
Write about the tires you are currently driving on.
